From January to October, China's basic medical insurance funds, which include maternity insurance, generated a total revenue of approximately CNY2.62 trillion (equivalent to around US$368.2 billion). This financial update was provided by data released from the National Healthcare Security Administration.
Breaking down the total revenue, the basic medical insurance funds for urban employees, inclusive of maternity insurance, accounted for CNY1.85 trillion of the total.
A Xinhua report also noted that the funds dedicated to rural and non-working urban residents contributed approximately CNY768.36 billion to the overall revenue.
During the same period, the expenditure of these basic medical insurance funds amounted to CNY2.25 trillion. This figure encompasses the total spending from the start of the year until the end of October.
