Sompo International has announced the appointment of Pablo Diago (pictured above) as the new head of claims for commercial insurance in the Asia Pacific region.
Diago brings over 10 years of experience in the Singapore insurance sector. His career includes significant roles at Marsh, HDI Global, and most recently, Crawford and Company.
According to his LinkedIn, Diago also holds a law degree from University Carlos III of Madrid and previously held a senior associate position at Deloitte before transitioning to the insurance industry.
Diago will be stationed in Singapore and will report to Paul O’Neill, president of commercial lines insurance, APAC.
“As Sompo International continues to build upon its commercial lines capabilities globally, having a strong claims function and leader in APAC is imperative,” O’Neill said. “Pablo’s deep understanding of the region’s risk environment will strengthen our ability to deliver on the promise we make to our business partners and further enhance the service we provide to our brokers and clients. I’m thrilled to welcome Pablo to our growing APAC team.”
Earlier this year, and elsewhere for the insurance group, Sompo entered a partnership with Israeli telehealth startup TytoCare to introduce its artificial intelligence-based remote medical device for elderly nursing care services.
