Shamsul will be reporting to Zurich Malaysia’s country head, Junior Cho, as he takes charge of growing its general takaful business and building on the momentum that the company has established in the industry.
Cho described Shamsul as a “true-blue insurance and takaful person,” adding that his extensive experience will be instrumental to the “next wave of innovation and sustainable growth” that Zurich Malaysia has planned for its Islamic general insurance unit.
With 30 years of experience in insurance and takaful, Shamsul is an industry veteran who has held various roles in key focus areas like distribution channel, broking, bancassurance, underwriting, and claims.
“He has hit the ground running and shares our firm commitment to creating a brighter future together for our customers, employees, partners, and the planet. We anticipate he will propel the company to greater heights,” Cho said.
