Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has appointed Taro Ogai as head of investments for Asia-Pacific, effective July 01. He will succeed Naomi Denning, who has been part of the company for 23 years.

Denning, who joined WTW in 1994, will relocate to Canada after leaving the company. Prior to WTW, she had worked as an asset consultant for Mercer. She is a member of the FTSE Asia-Pacific Regional and Hang Send Index Advisory Committees.

Meanwhile, Ogai has been with WTW since 2003, having served as managing consultant for the firm’s Japanese operations, as well as head of the Tokyo investment unit. Previously, he was an associate at McKinsey & Company and a deputy manager at the Industrial Bank of Japan.

“Taro’s all-round business and client experience make him well suited to take on the role of Asia Pacific regional investment business leader,” WTW global head of investment Chris Ford said.

“His appointment comes at an exciting time as we continue our transition from a pure advice business to being a leading investment solutions firm using both advice and implementation capabilities.”
