Willis Towers Watson has appointed Jeremy Lim (pictured) as market leader in Malaysia for its insurance consulting and technology (ICT) business. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Lim reports to Choo Oi San, divisional leader, ICT for South Asia and emerging markets.
Lim re-joins WTW after a stint as director at a multinational accounting firm in Malaysia, heading its actuarial services team, according to a statement by WTW. In his new role, Lim is responsible for developing and growing the ICT business in Malaysia, while also contributing to the growth of the business across Asia.
In addition, Lim will work closely with WTW’s existing insurance clients to help improve their business performance and gain a competitive edge. According to WTW, its ICT business serves insurers across a broad range of areas, such as financial and regulatory reporting, enterprise risk management, M&A, corporate restructuring, product, and market strategies.
“With the Asian insurance industry undergoing a digital revolution, Jeremy’s experience, knowledge and expertise will be essential in supporting our clients to adapt to this new environment and take advantage of all of the new opportunities it creates,” said Choo. “He has a wealth of insurance experience which will be pivotal in taking our ICT practice to the next level in Malaysia and across Asia.”
Lim has over 13 years’ experience in the insurance and takaful industry. Across his career, he has led and implemented a variety of insurance projects in Malaysia covering pricing, reserving, financial reporting, and mergers & acquisition. More recently, he led IFRS 17 initiatives for clients. Lim is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Fellow of the Actuarial Society of Malaysia, and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne.
