International (re)insurance brokerage UIB has appointed Hiroki Miyamoto as CEO of UIB Asia Reinsurance Brokers in Singapore, effective immediately.
Miyamoto, who was also appointed as a member of UIB’s board of directors, will oversee the firm’s Asian operations and work closely with the Japanese team to manage and service its Japanese clients.
“Hiroki comes with a wealth of experience and contacts in the Japanese insurance and international reinsurance markets, including London, Europe and Asia,” said Bassem Kabban, chairman and CEO of parent company UIB Holdings (UK), in a statement.
“I’m enormously excited about returning to UIB in Singapore as the chief executive and spearheading the development of the pan-Asian group, with a focus on the Japanese markets,” Miyamoto added. “I am committed to building for the future by attracting and retaining the best talent from the broadest pool of talent.”
UIB, which is based in London, has over 550 staff servicing clients across several global regions, namely: Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America, North America, Europe, and the Indian sub-continent. It specialises in the aviation, construction, energy, marine, and treaty reinsurance lines of business.
