Tune Protect has announced an expansion in the ASEAN region by partnering with Baoviet Insurance and Vietjet Air. The collaboration allows for the sale of travel insurance within Vietjet Air's travel portal, which went live on July 5.
The travel insurance technology used on Vietjet's travel portal is powered by White Label, an insurtech arm of Tune Protect. Baoviet Insurance serves as the main underwriter for all travel policies sold by Vietjet Air, with a portion of the insurance premium being ceded to Tune Protect Re Limited, Tune Protect's wholly owned reinsurance subsidiary.
“We are excited to partner with Baoviet Insurance and Vietjet Air as we are completely aligned strategically in offering affordable travel and travel insurance to meet travellers’ demands while contributing to boosting the regional travel and tourism economy,” said Rohit Nambiar (pictured), Tune Protect’s chief executive officer.
“We have been chosen due to our key strength in travel technology and capabilities, as well as our extensive experience in partnering with six other airline partners across ASEAN and the Middle East,” Nambiar said. “The travel insurance solutions will offer a range of benefits including medical, personal accident and travel inconveniences which can be selected when booking a flight on Vietjetair.com.”
This partnership marks Vietjet Air as Tune Protect’s seventh airline partner, joining the ranks of AirAsia, AirAsia X, Bamboo Airways, SalamAir, AirArabia, and FlyArna.
