Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has announced the appointment of Pavlos Spyropoulos as its new regional managing director.
Spyropoulos is joining TMK from Lloyd’s Asia, where he held various senior positions in market development before being named CEO in 2020. He first came to Singapore in 2014, becoming integral to developing Lloyd’s strategic direction, promotion, and oversight in the region. He is also an executive committee member of the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association.
“I’m delighted to welcome Pavlos to Tokio Marine Kiln. His experience in the Asian insurance sector is impressive, and he has an excellent track record of leading high-performing teams,” said TMK CEO Brad Irick.
Spyropoulos will be taking over for Alex Dugand, who is returning to London to serve as TMK’s international development officer. Dugand moved to Singapore in 2016 as regional underwriting director and became regional managing director in 2018. Under his watch, TMK reported a significant increase in its profitability.
“I would also like to thank Alex for all the work he has done for TMK in Asia,” Irick said. “He has built a strong and highly capable team and a successful and profitable business that I know will continue to thrive under Pavlos’ leadership. I’m excited to welcome him back to London as we further our profitable growth aspirations through 2022 and beyond.”
