Specialist insurer Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) is strengthening its political risk and trade credit lines with the appointment of Cindy Gunawan as special risks underwriter.
In this new role, Gunawan will be based in Singapore and focus on developing the insurer’s political risk and trade credit business as well as its political violence and terrorism portfolio across Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. Gunawan previously held the same post for TMK between 2016 and 2020.
According to her LinkedIn, Gunawan comes from Marsh, where she held the role of vice president for political risks and structured credit. Before this, she worked at Argenta Underwriting, Berry Palmer & Lyle, and Standard Chartered Bank.
Gunawan will step into the new role on Aug. 14, reporting to TMK Asia Pacific regional underwriting director Jamie Tang.
“Cindy’s experience dedicated to this line of business means she’s perfectly placed to support clients with this often-complex area of risk, through fantastic expertise and knowledge. We’re excited to welcome Cindy back to TMK,” Tang said.
Recently, TMK also announced the launch of its cyber and enterprise risk division as part of its strategic expansion into the cyber market.
