Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has made several changes to its leadership team in China following the departure of Jingwei Jia (pictured above), CEO for Greater China.
Jia joined Swiss Re in 2006 as an underwriter based in London. He spent 15 years with Swiss Re, holding several senior roles before leading the establishment of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Insurance China in 2015. He was later appointed chief executive of Swiss Re International SE Hong Kong branch in 2019. According to Swiss Re, Jia built a strong team that achieved notable growth in Greater China and helped establish close business relationships with brokers and broader stakeholders, paving the way for business expansion in the region.
Following Jia’s departure, Jonathan Rake, Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ CEO for Asia-Pacific, will assume oversight for Greater China, alongside Christine Fang, general manager of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Insurance China. Zoe Woon will be the interim chief executive for Swiss Re International SE Hong Kong branch. Swiss Re said it expects to appoint a permanent for Jia in the coming months, after it receives the needed regulatory approvals.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jingwei for his dedication and contributions, and I wish him all the best for the future,” Rake said. “Greater China remains an important market for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions and we remain steadfast in our commitment to work with our customers and partners to make the world more resilient.”
