Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has named Didier Bélot as head of its Southeast Asian operations, effective December 1, 2017.
Based in Singapore, Bélot will lead Swiss Re’s commercial insurance programs in the region, providing local servicing capabilities and innovative solutions. He succeeds Jonathan Rake, who was promoted to CEO for Asia-Pacific in July 2017.
Having joined Swiss Re in 2008, Bélot has held roles in the US, China, and Europe. Most recently, he led the company’s innovative risk solutions team in Asia-Pacific, holding the post for four years. Here, he gained valuable client and structuring experience relevant to the region.
“Didier's experience in the region and on executing tailored, multi-line solutions for domestic and international clients will be a great asset, particularly as the insurance market evolves through economic, technological and regulatory changes,” Rake commented. “His appointment adds impetus to our efforts in delivering commercial insurance solutions and risk management services to a diverse local client base.”
Bélot holds a Master’s of Engineering from Ecole Centrale and a Master’s in Management from HEC Paris.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has teams based in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, offering a wide range of solutions across property, casualty and specialty insurance lines to clients across the Southeast Asian region.
