Sun Life has appointed Benedict Sison as country head and CEO of Sun Life Financial in the Philippines, effective July 01.
Sison, who is currently Sun Life Philippines’ chief strategy and financial management officer, will succeed Riza Mantaring, who will retire on June 30 after being part of the company for 26 years.
Having joined Sun Life in 2010 as chief financial officer of its Philippine operations, Sison later held positions in Sun Life’s Asia regional office. “[Sison] has demonstrated his ability to successfully fuel growth with strategies and creative solutions that have helped Sun Life to prosper in a growingly competitive market,” the insurer said in a statement.
“Benedict was instrumental in helping Sun Life successfully move into new markets and lines of business to generate additional revenue,” Mantaring commented on her successor. “I have full confidence in his ability to bring further growth to Sun Life in the Philippines.”
Post-retirement, she will remain with Sun Life as chairperson of the Sun Life Philippines Holding Company, board member of Sun Life Grepa Financial, Inc., and chairperson of Sun Life Foundation, reported Philstar.
