Sun Life Malaysia has appointed Jeffry Azmi Mohd Shah (pictured above) as the new CEO of Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad (SLMT), effective immediately.
Shah has over 30 years of experience in life insurance and takaful. He joined Sun Life Malaysia in 2016 as head of underwriting and was later promoted to head of operations in 2017. Most recently, he worked as the company’s chief operations officer, responsible for leading various initiatives focused on operational, underwriting, claims, client service, and digital practices.
Shah has also held various leadership roles with leading life insurance companies before joining Sun Life Malaysia, including Uni.Asia Life Assurance, Mayban Life Assurance, and Allianz Life Assurance.
As CEO of Sun Life Malaysia’s family takaful unit, he will be responsible for developing and leading strategic priorities to further the growth of the business.
