Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance (SJNKI) and Qatar Insurance Company (QIC) have completed their knowledge exchange programme.
This concludes an agreement the two firms signed in April 2018.
The Japanese insurer sent a staff member, Kazutaka Yoshiyasu (pictured left), to QIC’s headquarters in Doha to help enhance technical skills, share experiences, and promote best practices, according to a statement from QIC. In return, Yoshiyasu was able to learn from QIC’s widespread knowledge in various fields of insurance and digitised retail platforms, as well as communicating with a multicultural workforce and customer base in the Middle East.
“This collaborative partnership highlights QIC Group’s reputation and goodwill for which SJNKI has chosen us as the ideal partner,” said Ahmed Al Jarboey (pictured right), senior vice president, MENA retail & motor claims. “We wish to foster this growing relationship and take it to the next stage of its evolution. It would be our way of cementing the partnership between the two business powerhouses.”
QIC, which was founded in 1964, was the first domestic insurance company in Qatar. It is now a leading insurer in its home market, as well as in the GCC and MENA markets. Meanwhile, Sompo Japan dates back to 1888 and is one of the largest property and casualty insurers in Japan.
