The Singapore Insurance Institute (SII), an organisation for professionals in the insurance and financial services sectors in Singapore, has declared its council members for the 2024/25 term following recent elections.
The elections took place at SII’s 50th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 10. Members gathered to discuss important developments and elected the new council to guide the institute over the next year.

Verma, the outgoing president, remarked on the institute’s dedication to enhancing professionalism within the insurance field.
“Since its inception, the Singapore Insurance Institute (SII) has stayed true to its purpose of promoting, encouraging, and advancing professionalism in the insurance industry,” he said. “Over the past few years, we have worked relentlessly to enhance the knowledge and skills of our members and have organised numerous networking events and seminars that have brought together industry experts, thought leaders, and practitioners to share insights and best practices. It has been a privilege to serve SII, and I am immensely thankful for the experience.”
Lim conveyed her appreciation and forward-looking vision.
“I am honoured to have been elected as the SII president, and I would like to thank Sunny for his leadership as well as the dedicated individuals for their tireless contributions to the institute. As we embark on this new chapter together, it is crucial for us to acknowledge the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in the insurance industry. The world is evolving rapidly, and the insurance landscape is no exception,” she said. “Let us seize this opportunity to make a lasting impact in our industry and contribute to the well-being of Singapore’s insurance landscape. Let us come together to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of our industry, and I am confident that, together, we will achieve great things.”
The SII operates as a non-profit entity managed by a council composed of elected and co-opted members from various sectors within the insurance and financial services industries. Its mission is to promote professionalism in insurance and financial services. This year, SII celebrates its 60th anniversary.
