Sedgwick has appointed Catherine Cooper (pictured above) to the newly created role of director of business development for Asia.
In her new role, Cooper will be responsible for supporting Sedgwick’s growth strategy in the Asia-Pacific region by securing new business partnerships and opportunities, as well as providing service to existing clients.
Cooper has 28 years of experience in the insurance industry, having worked as a placement broker in the UK and Hong Kong. Before joining Sedgwick, she was Asia business development manager for four years at McLarens, first based in Hong Kong and then in Singapore. Prior to that, she spent three years as distribution manager for the international broker sector. Her career includes stops at major insurance names such as Allied World, Willis and Marsh.
According to Sedgwick, Cooper brings to the company a wealth of expertise in client relationship management, as well as a record of successful negotiations of new deals on large and complex national, regional and global programmes across all lines of business.
“Catherine’s deep knowledge of our market makes her the ideal person to support our business development plans and claims management services in Asia,” said James Ong, Sedgwick’s Asia CEO.
