Sedgwick has brought in Nigel Cook as head of major and complex loss in Asia, drawing on his extensive background in engineering.
Cook previously worked for British Steel in the UK, the American Bureau of Shipping, and a state-owned oil and gas company in the Middle East before joining the adjusting industry in New Zealand within the specialist commercial market. He earned professional insurance qualifications through the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and achieved chartered status with the Australasian Institute of Chartered Loss Adjusters before gaining further international adjusting experience in Asia and the Middle East.
With his engineering background, Cook specialises in handling large and complex losses related to material damage, engineering, onshore and offshore natural resources, petrochemical, marine hull and machinery, warranty and liability, as well as associated claims for advance loss of profit.
“As a chartered loss adjuster with international experience, Nigel’s outstanding talents and reputation will be great assets to us,” said James Ong, CEO of Sedgwick in Asia. “He brings a wealth of specialist knowledge and industry experience to Sedgwick, as well as significant expertise from having dealt with major and complex losses across a wide range of industries and geographies.”
“I look forward to working closely with the Sedgwick regional team to realise the company’s long-term growth and development strategy and to ensure our continued ability to provide clients with cost-effective, top-of-the-line service solutions and support across Asia,” Cook said.
