SCOR has restructured SCOR Business Solutions, its large corporate risks insurance arm, as part of its current ‘Vision in Action’ strategic plan.

Laurent Rousseau, who was appointed deputy CEO of SCOR Global P&C in April, will continue heading the unit. SCOR Business Solutions will now be structured around three regions: Europe, Middle East, and Africa; Asia-Pacific; and Americas. The unit will do business in six lines: construction, property, energy, casualty, financial lines, and marine & transportation. A new portfolio underwriting division has been created, and a chief technical officer will be appointed.

According to the France-based re/insurer, the new organisational structure will promote a sustained track record of profitability, a strong technical culture, and nimble positioning in the re/insurance risk transfer chain. The firm aims to build an agile and scalable organisation within its P&C insurance business.

“The ongoing insurance sector transformation is creating opportunities, which we intend to seize with the development of our insurance platform and specialist approach,” commented Rosseau. “SCOR Business Solutions will be further building on its 40-year track record as a large corporate risks carrier, making the best possible use of all the potential synergies within the SCOR group.”
