There is a new man at the helm of QBE’s Asia operations with the firm today announcing the appointment of Jason Hammond as its new CEO for the region.
Hammond, previously interim CEO for QBE Asia, will take over responsibility for areas including China, Hong Kong and Macau, as well as Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore where he will be based. He will report to Richard Pryce, the CEO of QBE International.
“Jason brings extensive experience of managing large teams and a proven track record of strategic and operational management to his new role as Asia CEO,” said Pryce. “He will lead the new Asia structure across geographical and functional lines to help create a stronger and simpler QBE.”
His appointment comes on the back of a restructure by the firm to become more “aligned and customer-focused.” Back in October, it announced that from January this year it would streamline its business divisions in an effort to create a more agile business – with the newly created QBE international division now consisting of both the European and Asia operations.
