POP, an insurance investor in M&A and specialist lines, announced the appointment of Sergei Korol (pictured) as chief operations and finance officer.
In this new role, Korol will be based in Singapore and will be responsible for the delivery of the firm’s services, both internal to its operating companies and external to its ecosystem partners. He will also work closely with partners and associates across the group’s various brands, including MGA Fusion Specialty an io.insure, a dedicated specialty insurtech and M&A tech platform.
Korol comes to the role with over two decades of experience in both the financial and insurance industries. Prior to POP, he was managing director at Grab Financial Group, where he led the creation of the company’s first financial segment team for its fintech division. Before that, he was CFO and COO at ACR Capital Holdings. According to his LinkedIn, Korol also worked at Asia Capital Re, Chubb Asia Pacific, MetLife, and ALICO, a subsidiary of AIG.
POP co-founder and CEO Killian McDermott said that Korol’s addition to the investment group will build on the growth momentum that it has achieved over the past years.
“With Sergei’s expertise in leading finance and operations functions, we are confident that we can further build efficiencies across Fusion and io.insure, that drive top quality services with high-impact results that will benefit our ecosystem partners, including customers, brokers, advisors and insurers,” McDermott said.
