PasarPolis has announced the appointment of industry veteran Peter Van Zyl as its new president. Van Zyl comes to the role following more than eight years serving as CEO of Allianz Indonesia, one of the country’s leading insurers named as The Best Insurance Companies to Work for in Asia.
In this new role, Van Zyl will oversee the full-stack insurtech’s global strategy as it expands from its regional home of Southeast Asia. Van Zyl first worked with PasarPolis via the insurtech’s business partnership with Allianz Indonesia.
According to his LinkedIn, Van Zyl also previously worked at AIG Southeast Asia and AIG South Africa in a vice president capacity. He also served as managing director at Bensure Direct for two years. PasarPolis CEO Cleosent Randing welcomed Van Zyl to his new role in a news release.
“His leadership acumen and experience will be essential as we continue to disrupt the insurance landscape as a full-stack insurtech. Our prior collaboration with Peter, through Allianz Indonesia, gives us confidence in our shared objectives,” Randing said.
The insurtech’s latest key appointment follows Randing’s confirmation of expansions in the region as PasarPolis eyes new bases in other Southeast Asian territories, in particular Malaysia and the Philippines.
