Liberty General Insurance has teamed up with Maruti Suzuki Insurance Broking (Maruti Suzuki) to expand insurance awareness across Punjab’s Gram Panchayats while focusing on insurance engagement in Delhi through the “Bima Prachaar Aur Prasaar” campaign.

This initiative aligns with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s (IRDAI) goal of “Insurance for All by 2047,” targeting underinsured rural and urban communities.

While Liberty General Insurance operates as a leading non-life insurer in Delhi, the company’s rural outreach campaign has been focused on Punjab due to the absence of Gram Panchayats in urban areas like Delhi.

Increasing insurance penetration in rural communities

The collaboration aims to increase insurance penetration, especially within rural Gram Panchayats in Punjab, to better support communities with essential insurance education.

The first campaign event was held on Oct. 22 at Mukerian Panchayat, located in Hoshiarpur, Punjab.

The event included free vehicle inspections and health screenings for local residents, who were also introduced to information on how insurance can protect personal and family assets against potential risks.

Anurag Rampal, senior vice president and national head for central distribution and marketing team at Liberty General Insurance, said the partnership with Maruti Suzuki is a significant step in the company’s efforts to enhance insurance awareness in rural communities.

“By engaging with communities in Punjab’s Gram Panchayats, we are empowering individuals with the knowledge they need to protect their financial futures. We look forward to expanding these joint efforts to Delhi and beyond,” he said.

This event marks the beginning of an expanded campaign across rural and urban communities, as Liberty General Insurance continues efforts to fulfill IRDAI’s 2047 vision of universal insurance coverage.

The initiative comes on the heels of Liberty General Insurance’s campaign celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day.

Liberty General Insurance Independence Day campaign

As part of the Independence Day campaign, the insurer released a brand film promoting the importance of roadside assistance services for car owners.

Using humour and storytelling, the campaign emphasises the practical benefits of the service and reinforces LGI’s commitment to customer assistance in unexpected roadside situations.

The short film follows a family on a picnic who encounter various vehicle issues during their drive, such as flat tires and minor breakdowns. Through LGI’s roadside assistance service, each problem is swiftly addressed, highlighting how the service enables a seamless driving experience.

This campaign is part of LGI’s broader outreach strategy, emphasising the significance of comprehensive car insurance and the everyday support services that make for a reliable driving experience.
