New Dawn Risk Group Ltd, an international liability and specialty lines insurance intermediary, has appointed Dermot Dick (pictured) as head of treaty production, effective immediately.
Prior to joining New Dawn Risk, Dick was most recently chief underwriting officer at Emirates Insurance Company, one of the oldest insurers in the UAE. In this role, which he held for almost seven years, he led the company’s international underwriting team. Before that, he was based in London as senior vice president and manager for the MENA region at XL Re, where he underwrote a book of Middle Eastern reinsurance business.
Dick also served as CEO of Q-Re, now known as Qatar Re, having held various leadership roles in the QIC Group.
“Over the last decade we have built a robust treaty business and a strong offering in the Middle East, Africa and Asia,” said New Dawn Risk CEO Max Carter. “Dermot’s depth of experience in those regions, the strength of his relationships and in-depth knowledge means we are able to offer cedants an even more valuable proposition.”
