France-based multinational insurer
AXA has appointed Etienne Bouas-Laurent as CEO for its Hong Kong operations. He succeeds the retiring Stuart Harrison, effective August 31 and subject to regulatory approval.
Bouas-Laurent will report to Jean-Louis Laurent Josi, regional CEO of AXA Asia, while Harrison will continue with the company as a director and senior advisor.
Before transferring to AXA Asia in 2016, Bouas-Laurent was the chief financial officer of the global insurance group in Germany, and previously headed the company’s wealth management arm in France. He is currently focusing on expanding AXA Asia’s life and health insurance businesses in the Asia-Pacific region.
Laurent Josi said in a statement released by AXA Asia: “With his passion, energy, and vision, Bouas-Laurent will clearly continue to drive our business to flourish in Hong Kong while transforming it to make it even more digital ready, efficient and customer-centric.”
