MYAirline passengers can obtain the MYAirline Travel Insurance – formerly known as MY Travel Shield – to insure their travels against inconveniences and mishaps. Opting into this protection is seamless thanks to its embedment as part of the flight ticket purchase journey, resulting in a hassle-free, simple, and straightforward process.
The package is a customized travel insurance that covers delayed flights or cancelled trips, lost, damaged, or delayed luggage, and emergency medical treatment during travel. The package also includes COVI-19 benefits.
“Insurance is the first piece and immediately after launching insurance, we have also launched our loyalty program, which is important in this day and age. There will be more to come, we will be able to share more details as we go along,” MYAirline CEO Rayner Teo said in a statement made during the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing ceremony on Monday.
In the same statement, Zurich Malaysia country head Junior Cho said that the MoU signing is another milestone for the insurer in its effort to create a brighter future together, with and for Malaysians.
“We are firm believers of embracing collaboration to widen our touchpoints and provide solutions that meet the needs of Malaysians and offer peace of mind,” Cho said. “This is an opportunity for us to put into action our care for what matters, with a like-minded company.”
The current route network of MYAirline comprises eight domestic destinations, and it undertakes 30 flights a day. In its second month of operations in January this year, the airline flew about 5,000 daily passengers.
Last month, Chubb Asia partnered with Korean Air as a collaborator on domestic and overseas travel insurance offerings.
