Munich Re has made two senior appointments for its life and health business in Southeast Asia.
Aravind Srinivas (pictured left) has been appointed as managing director for life and health, Southeast Asia, succeeding Tobias Frenz (pictured right), who now heads digital solutions in Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa.
Srinivas is based in Singapore and reports to David Hughes, CEO, Munich Re Life and Health, Asia (ex-Greater China). He was previously chief commercial officer for Munich Re’s Life, Health and High Net Worth business in the region. Prior to that, he was head of client pricing in Munich Re Australasia and had held various roles covering pricing, product development and client management. Srinivas has more than 15 years’ experience in the life insurance industry and is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
Tobias, who has taken on a newly created role, reports to Daniel Cossette, CEO, Munich Re Life and Health, Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. He has been with the company for 19 years and was based in Germany, the UAE, Malaysia and Singapore, holding various client management and senior leadership roles. Tobias holds a master’s degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Dortmund, a certificate in Islamic finance from CIMA and is a fellow of the Actuarial Society of Germany.
“It is vital for our clients to take advantage of the opportunities that the digital transformation of the industry presents,” said Cossette. “I am confident both Tobias and Aravind will lead our teams towards our goal to be the reinsurance partner of choice for clients seeking to optimise the insurance value chain and enhance their customer experience.”
