Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (MSI) has set up two global digital hubs in Singapore and Tokyo, serving as bases for the Japanese insurer’s efforts to digitalise its global operations.
The Singapore global digital hub is located at MSIG Asia’s regional office at Shenton Way and has been open since February 01. According to a statement by MSI, the Singapore hub will support digital initiatives in the ASEAN market, gather information regarding digital technology, and promote open innovation with business partners and start-ups.
Meanwhile, the Tokyo global digital hub opened on April 05, and is located in BIZCORE building in Chiyoda City. This hub was established with a mission to cultivate open innovation with start-ups, promote digitalisation initiatives among employees and agents, and develop human capital using advanced technology.
MSI added that the Tokyo global digital hub will be its “innovation epicentre”, in order to find new ways of adding value for its clients using technology.
“By collaborating with start-ups, MSI hopes to develop innovative products and services that will help address social issues and contribute to society as per the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” the insurer said.
