Milliman has appointed Richard Payne as director and consulting actuary for its life insurance consulting team in Asia.
Payne is based in Hong Kong and will begin his new role on Feb. 13.
Payne has 26 years of international actuarial experience. Prior to joining Milliman, he was a senior manager with the Hong Kong Insurance Authority. He also held leadership roles at Prudential Corporation Asia in Hong Kong and Prudential Assurance in the United Kingdom.
"Richard has a wealth of experience in Asia, including the practical implications of regulatory change for life insurers in the region," said Michael Daly, principal and consulting actuary at Milliman. "With developments such as new risk-based capital regimes and IFRS 17 reporting impacting the industry, we are delighted to welcome Richard on board to strengthen the risk management and regulatory consulting support to our clients in Asia."
