International insurance provider MetLife Asia has announced that it won in two categories at the thirteenth annual International Business Awards.
MetLife Asia received a Gold Award for “Best New Product or Service of the Year” for BEAUTIFUL, its lifestyle and health plan for women. The product was launched in 2015 and aims to address the specific needs of women aged 30-50, empowering them to live healthy lives and providing financial security.
The firm also received a Bronze Award for “Most Innovative Company of the Year - in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.” The citation was due to two key projects that demonstrated and promoted innovation. First was the founding of MetLife Asia’s Center of Excellence for Data Analytics (COEDA) in 2014 to translate big data into customer insights, provide a more holistic customer experience, and improve on business performance.
The second project, LumenLab, is an innovation space in Singapore where new business models are developed and tested, seeking to disrupt the industry’s status quo. The center promotes innovation in over 10 countries in the region and provides new solutions to meet the needs of Asian customers regarding health, ageing, and wealth management.
The International Business Awards are open to nominations from all individuals and organisations worldwide. The 2016 edition received entries from over 60 countries. The awards are nicknamed “Stevies”, after the Greek word for “crowned”. Winners will receive their awards in a gala ceremony on October 21 at the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Italy.
