Metlife Insurance Japan has announced the appointment of David Gee as its chief information officer. He will also hold the positions of statutory executive officer and senior vice president.

Gee will be working on a major technology transformation project that will help Metlife Japan migrate from older systems which have been inherited from life insurance business Alico, which was acquired from AIG in 2010.

Previously, Gee worked at CUA, also as chief information officer, until mid-2014. There, he completed a transformation project which facilitated shifting to a new core banking system. He has been an advisor at tech startup Sapien Ventures, as well as executive advisor and mentor at knowledge technology start up, KnowledgeFlux, and blockchain payments firm, BitPOS. He also was a mentor at Tyro Fintech Hub, and strategic advisory board member at Venturetech Accelerator.
