HDI Global SE has appointed Melanie Windirsch (pictured above) as its new head of international programs (IP), effective November 1, 2024.
Windirsch, who succeeds Dr Dirk Höring following his promotion to the HDI Global SE executive board in April, will report to Dr Thomas Kuhnt, COO and CIO of HDI Global.
Windirsch brings over 12 years of corporate insurance experience to HDI Global, having previously worked with Allianz Commercial, where she served as head of global network management and multinational governance.
She also has a background in underwriting. In her new role, she will oversee more than 50 employees across the IP services, IP operations and technology, and global network departments.
Kuhnt expressed that he welcomes Windirsch to the leadership team, citing her industry expertise and knowledge as valuable assets to HDI Global’s efforts to enhance its international programs.
“Her extensive experience and deep knowledge of the industry make her an invaluable asset to HDI Global,” he said. “I am truly excited to work alongside Melanie and tap into her expertise to further drive our proposition in international programs. With her on board, I am confident that we will continue to strengthen our position as the leading German insurer of international programs.”
HDI Global is a major provider of international programs for multinational corporations, with over 5,100 active programs. The insurer’s international programs offer standardised risk protection for clients operating worldwide, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
