Manulife Hong Kong has announced that Wilton Kee (pictured), the company’s vice president and chief product officer for individual financial products since October 2016, has been named to an expanded role as vice president, chief product officer, and head of health.
The move is part of the insurer’s creation of a health function in order to strengthen the company’s focus on the high growth area, it said in a statement. In addition to his role as the chief product officer, Kee will lead Manulife’s individual and group health business in Hong Kong. This includes the development of medical and critical illness products for individuals and families, employers and employees, as well as the management of medical service provider relationships.
“Wilton is a dynamic, highly respected and impactful leader,” said Damien Green, CEO of Manulife Hong Kong and Macau. “With his leadership in driving our health business and our new, sharper focus on health strategy, Manulife will concentrate on broadening our customised health solutions for both individual and group customers, enhancing the efficient deployment of our resources and creating increased synergies between related functions.”
Kee joined Manulife in 2013 as assistant vice president & pricing officer, individual financial products, Hong Kong, overseeing its marketing actuarial functions. In 2015, he took on the dual role of heading up both marketing actuarial and product development for the individual financial products business. According to Manulife, Kee played a vital role in the formation of its health strategy – a major achievement of which was the successful launch of its Voluntary Health Insurance Scheme (VHIS) last year.
