Manulife Hong Kong was honoured with several accolades in the first-ever IFPHK Financial Education Leadership Awards 2018 in recognition of its work in promoting financial literacy Hong Kong.
The contest was organised by the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) in collaboration with Metro Finance.
Manulife Hong Kong received the following awards:
• Best corporate financial education leadership of the year
• Accredited professional financial planning firm
• Corporate financial education leadership – gold award
• Corporate volunteer team in financial education – gold award
The insurer was recognised for its efforts to provide the public with free financial education through traditional channels such as print materials and seminars, as well as through digital platforms such as social media. Recently, Manulife released nine short films online to encourage “dual-income, no-kids” couples in Hong Kong to think early about retirement.
“As a leading financial services organisation, Manulife believes it is our responsibility to help safeguard the financial health and wellness of our community,” commented Guy Mills, chief executive officer of Manulife Hong Kong. “Over the years, Manulife has been very active in promoting the importance of financial and retirement planning, and we are so proud to be a major winner in this inaugural presentation ceremony.”
The awards were based on the number of criteria met, the number of designated professionals being hired as well as the number of agents/employees enrolling as Citizen Volunteers in Financial Education. They were judged by a panel composed of IFPHK’s board members and experienced certified financial planning (CFP) professionals.
