Sixty-four per cent of workers in the Philippines are planning to change jobs in 2025, according to a study conducted by professional services firm Aon.

The data reveals that nearly two-thirds of Filipino workers are either actively looking for a new job or contemplating a career move within the next 12 months. This trend spans beyond Manila, affecting regional hubs like Cebu and Davao.

"Competition for skilled talent is increasing across the Philippines. In such an environment, managing and retaining employees is important for firms to remain competitive," Josef Ayson, growth lead for Talent Solutions for the Philippines at Aon, said in a press release.

"Compensation strategies based on the latest data and analytics from their own organisations as well as the market, can help companies make more informed decisions on attracting and retaining employees in this evolving workforce landscape."

The study reveals that 83% are open to exchanging current benefits for improved ones. Medical coverage tops the list of most valued benefits, followed by paid time off, work-life balance programs, career development, and retirement savings.

Financial security has emerged as a crucial concern, with 65% of employees indicating a desire for employer assistance in retirement planning. Additionally, 58% of workers believe their employers should provide financial education.

"Amid continued economic volatility and the rising cost of living, there is a growing expectation for employers to provide medical coverage and support for mental and financial wellbeing," said Cris Rosenthal, strategic advisory lead for Health Solutions for the Philippines at Aon.

Aon's 2025 Employee Sentiment Study surveyed over 9,000 employees across 23 countries including the United States, China, India, and Japan.
