Lloyd’s has appointed Pavlos Spyropoulos (pictured) as CEO of Lloyd’s Asia and country manager for Singapore, effective July 29.
He reports to Iain Ferguson, regional director for Asia-Pacific and president, Lloyd’s Japan, according to a statement from the international insurance market.
Spyropoulos has been with Lloyd’s for over 12 years, since completing the Lloyd’s graduate scheme in 2008. In 2014, he relocated to Singapore to assume responsibility for Lloyd’s Asia market development function and to lead several strategic initiatives in Asia-Pacific, before becoming head of market development for the region in 2019. In this role, he has been responsible for working with Lloyd’s regional network to develop the market’s presence, strategy, and stakeholder management in the region.
“Lloyd’s Asia is a key distribution hub for the Lloyd’s market in Asia-Pacific, providing our brokers and clients in the region with local access to the specialist products and expertise we are renowned for,” said Spyropoulos. “I am looking forward to working closely with our market to support their development plans and introducing solutions developed under The Future at Lloyd’s strategy as we continue to be the platform of choice for specialist re/insurance in the region.”
Alongside his appointment at Lloyd’s, Spyropoulos has also recently been elected as a new member of the Singapore Reinsurer’s Association (SRA) executive committee for 2020-2021.
