Liberty General Insurance has partnered with Profectus Capital to introduce insurance solutions designed for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The collaboration aims to provide businesses with better access to financial protection, helping them mitigate risks and ensure operational stability.
The initiative seeks to incorporate insurance into the MSME financial framework, allowing enterprises to safeguard their operations, employees, and dependents from disruptions that might otherwise hinder their growth.
Jayesh Khatri (pictured left), president and head of retail distribution and marketing at Liberty General Insurance, said integrating insurance into Profectus Capital’s financial services strengthens the resilience of these enterprises.
“By addressing their risk management needs, we are enabling these enterprises to focus on their aspirations. At Liberty, we are committed to fostering financial stability and continuity for businesses across the country,” he said.
Profectus Capital CEO and whole-time director K.V. Srinivasan noted that this collaboration addresses two crucial needs: access to finance and protection against risks.
“The partnership with Liberty General Insurance helps us to not only address the financing needs of MSMEs but also provide them solutions to manage their operating risks and grow their businesses in a sustainable and robust manner,” he said.
The partnership is part of Liberty General Insurance’s broader effort to foster a stable business environment for MSMEs and contribute to a more resilient economic landscape.
The partnership follows the launch of a series of initiatives aimed at promoting insurance awareness and adoption in India, focusing on rural Punjab and urban Delhi.
These programs align with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s (IRDAI) target to achieve universal insurance coverage by 2047.
In Punjab, Liberty General Insurance has collaborated with Maruti Suzuki Insurance Broking for the “Bima Prachaar Aur Prasaar” campaign. The effort aims to educate rural communities on the benefits of insurance, with activities planned across 400 Gram Panchayats.
In Delhi, the insurer has continued its “Suraksha ka Vaada Bima ke Saath” program, which began in 2023. Recent initiatives included door-to-door outreach in neighbourhoods such as Karala Village, Budh Vihar, and Jahangirpuri, engaging over 1,600 households in October.
To further raise awareness, the company organised street plays in areas like Sarojini Nagar and Lakshmi Nagar. These interactive performances addressed misconceptions about insurance and highlighted its importance in protecting against unforeseen risks.
Residents were also provided with an educational booklet titled “Wise Ways of Insurance,” which explains insurance concepts in simple terms.
