The Insurance Association of Fiji has named Avi Raju as the new chair of its executive board.
Raju holds the position of executive director at FijiCare Insurance Limited and is also the founder and managing director of Mount Sophia Group, a Hong Kong-based private investment company with a global investment footprint.
According to FBC News, Raju has primarily invested in the Fijian market in the past five years, expanding his business interests across the insurance, healthcare, real estate, and technology sectors.
Raju’s career spans over 20 years in various industries, including technology, real estate, and investments, primarily within the Asia Pacific region.
Before his current roles, Raju was employed as the chief information officer for Asia Pacific at Savills Limited, a global property services group traded on the London Stock Exchange. His responsibilities included strategic oversight and system management for the company’s operations across 15 Asian locations, involving more than 17,000 employees.
