April International Care has announced several enhancements to its range of onshore MyHEALTH Hong Kong international private medical insurance policies. These will apply to all its policies, including individual, family and small to medium enterprise cover, effective immediately.
According to a statement from the company, the out-of-area cover limit has been doubled to US$100,000, and several new medical treatments have been added across selected plans. These include stem cell treatment on extensive and elite hospital and surgery plans, while hormone replacement, psychologist costs and check-ups and vaccinations are now covered across more plan levels.
Meanwhile, in order to help contain costs and offset the effects of medical price inflation, Hong Kong residents can opt for inpatient treatment to be delivered exclusively via a ‘specified providers’ network, triggering a premium reduction versus full network cover, the company added.
“Keeping access to private international healthcare affordable is more important than ever,” said Kylee Lancsar, April International’s customer journey and digital marketing manager. “These new international and local private health insurance enhancements for 2020 continue our long track record of innovation and a focus on the needs of our clients. Premium rate changes have been kept to a minimum for our entry level products, while at the same time, a substantial range of policy enhancements has been rolled out, delivering significant added value to our customers. We have not lost sight of the importance of cost, either, with lower premium rates available through our specified providers feature.”
Additionally, April has launched a telehealth service for Hong Kong-based clients, in partnership with Teladoc Health. The service is available through April’s mobile application to all individual and group clients.
