Insular Life, a provider based in the Philippines, has received its 15th Life Office Management (LOMA) Excellence in Education Award. The citation recognizes companies that excellently develop their human resources through LOMA’s professional education and learning programs.
The insurer’s tally of 15 awards since 1992 is more than any other life insurance company. It is followed by Modern Woodmen of America and RGA Reinsurance Company, both based in the US, with 12 each.
LOMA, an international trade association for the insurance and financial services industries, has over 100 years’ expertise in industry knowledge. Its educational resources and products help foster innovation, produce quality research, and formulate best practices for the industry. Almost 1,200 life insurers in over 80 countries rely on its employee training and development programs.
“Training and development of our people has always been a key focus of the company,” said Insular Life CEO Nina Aguas. “Continuous learning enables us to make a positive difference in the lives of our stakeholders.”
Insular Life has 35 fellows from the Life Management Institute program (FLMI), a 10-course professional development program that gives advanced knowledge of insurance and finance. Meanwhile, two fellows are from the Financial Services Institute (FFSI), and over 160 certificate holders from various management courses. The company also sponsors more than 100 LOMA examination slots for its employees annually.
