The Singapore Reinsurers’ Association’s Women-in-Reinsurance (WiRE) sub-committee has unveiled its first mentoring initiative, which saw 12 senior executives take part.
The Mentoring on the Move event saw execs take part in a speed coaching and networking session with 36 participants from 20 insurance and reinsurance firms.
Participants were divided into small groups and given 15 minutes to discuss career issues or challenges with a mentor before moving on to the next mentor in the event sponsored by
Aon Benfield Asia.
Each participant was able to speak with six mentors during the event focused around six themes: career progression and leadership, building a professional network, personal branding, building confidence, mentoring skills, and managing teams.
Participants and mentors then took part in an open forum and a question and answer session on any topic.
“Mentoring on the Move fosters interactive discussions, allowing participants the chance to get up close and personal with senior industry experts, and openly ask real questions and receive genuine advice and fresh insights, with real practical tips to inspire them to attain their career aspirations,” Mary Perry, convenor of the WiRE sub-committee said.
