The fourth annual Dive-In Festival for diversity and inclusion in the insurance industry will reach a new destination in Amman, Jordan, hosted by International General Insurance Holdings Limited (IGI).
The Dive-In Festival, which will take place in more than 55 cities in 27 countries around the world from September 25-27, was created to encourage inclusive culture in insurance organisations, with the theme #time4inclusion. This year’s festival marks the start of a two-year campaign, ‘Awareness into Action’, to harness the energy of previous years and encourage action across the sector.
IGI will host Jordan’s first-ever Dive-In Festival on September 26 at the Grand Hyatt in Amman, with the name ‘Glassed In Dive In’. The event will include a discussion, led by Mayyada Abu-Jaber, one of Jordan’s foremost advocates for women empowerment, on increasing the value of women in the workplace.
Abu-Jaber is the founder and head of Jordan Education for Employment and JoWomenomics, as well as managing director of the World of Letters. She is an Echidna Global Scholar at the Brookings Institute.
Other guests and speakers include representatives of diverse parts of Jordanian society, including government, civil society, and the private sector. The discussion will be followed by a performance from members of the Jordan National Centre for Culture & Arts.
“Our company is an equal opportunity employer and we are proud to have a 50:50 male to female ratio among our staff,” said Aaida Abu-Jaber, head of public relations and marketing at IGI. “We see ourselves as role models in the industry. We are delighted that this year’s country spotlight of the festival is Jordan. We are hosting the Dive-In Festival because we believe that diverse and inclusive businesses are more innovative, creative, profitable, and fun.”
