HSBC Insurance has appointed Alistair Chamberlain as global head of product and actuarial, based in Singapore. The appointment, which was effective April 16, also saw him added to the insurer’s Group Insurance Executive Committee.
Chamberlain will lead the development and management of all of HSBC Insurance’s products, as well as overseeing the partner-sourced insurance products and services. He will also lead the chief actuary teams globally.
An expert of the Asian insurance market, Chamberlain has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. Prior to joining HSBC, he was with AIA, most recently as chief financial officer for Singapore. He has also worked for Aviva, where he was regional head of products and marketing.
Chamberlain is currently the chairperson of the Life Insurance Association Tax Committee in Singapore, as well as a member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants’ Insurance Committee and a fellow of the Actuarial Societies in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong.
