Honan Insurance Group (Honan) has announced that its founder Geoffrey Honan has passed away at 93-years-old.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Geoffrey Honan – father to executive chairman Damien Honan and the founder of our great company,” Honan said on LinkedIn.
Geoffrey established Honan in 1964 with the aim of helping people invest in their future and helping businesses invest in their people. For over 30 years, he had focused on growing the group, including enlisting the assistance of his son Damien Honan in 1984 to transform the group into a global insurance brokerage delivering exceptional service to its clients, partners, and communities.
Looking back at Geoffrey's exceptional contribution to the business and the insurance industry, Honan CEO Andrew Fluitsma said the late founder's “many legacies will shine bright, including a core value that remains fundamental to our continued success: We see our clients.”
Damien added: “My father always told me you'll be shocked how much business you win and the things you discover when you see your clients.”
Honan provides advice and support across insurance, risk, and financial services, with over 200 staff in offices across Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia.
