General insurer HDFC ERGO and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSIL) have entered a partnership to offer discounted motor insurance policies to owners of two-wheeled vehicles all over the country.
The deal was made in anticipation of the festival season starting in October, as demand for new vehicles is usually high during this time.
Policies will offer unlimited claim settlement during the insured period, as well as an optional zero depreciation benefit. Affordable repairs will also be available at over 4,600 Honda outlets across India.
To facilitate easier motor policy claims, HDFC ERGO launched a digital platform. The app allows instant monitoring of claim settlement status and reduces turnaround time to just three days. The insurer offers long-term two-wheeler insurance policies, valid up to two or three years.
“Through this alliance, Honda customers will get a robust online insurance support with instant policy issuance, backed with best in class services offered,” said HDFC ERGO General Insurance CEO Ritesh Kumar.
HDFC ERGO is a joint venture between India’s HDFC financial group and ERGO International AG of Germany. Meanwhile, HMSIL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Honda Motor Company of Japan, is the second-largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters in India.
