Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has appointed Brendan McDonald (pictured) as head of underwriting for Asia. He reports to Axel Roesner, head of GC&C Asia.
Based in Generali’s regional headquarters in Hong Kong, McDonald will be responsible for driving growth and underwriting excellence across Asia, a statement from the insurer said.
McDonald joined Generali in 2018 as head of financial lines underwriting for GC&C Asia. Prior to that, Brendan was head of liability at Oman Insurance Company and held several roles at Zurich including head of professional indemnity & casualty lines, Middle East. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance from the University of Birmingham, UK.
