Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) has announced the appointments of Winnie Chu and Joshua Lynch to its leadership team in the Asia region.

Chu (pictured above left) has been named head of financial lines underwriting for Asia, while Lynch (pictured above right) has been appointed head of business development for Asia. Both appointments will be effective Sept. 30.

“We are delighted to welcome Winnie and Joshua to our team as we continue investing into further expanding across Asia,” Axel Roesner, head of GC&C Asia, said in a media release. “Winnie will lead our profitable growth and technical excellence agenda in financial lines with her deep market knowledge in this line, while Joshua will be instrumental in scouting new business opportunities in our highly diverse and competitive regional landscape. These appointments reinforce the strategic focus of GC&C to expand our reach across markets, and to continue growing profitably by serving our clients’ needs with custom-tailored solutions and best risk advisory.”

Chu joins the company from AIG Hong Kong, where she most recently served as head of financial institutions. She has also served on the financial lines team at Chubb Hong Kong and as a member of the AIG International Financial Lines Community of Practice, where she represented Asia in formulating FI underwriting strategies.

“It is a great pleasure to join the GC&C Asia team,” Chu said. “I am excited to work with everyone to capture growth opportunities in the region based on the strong foundation of underwriting excellence that the financial lines team have built over time. Client-centric solutions will remain our priority as always, supported by quality and innovative underwriting.”

Lynch has more than 12 years of industry experience. He joins GC&C from Lloyd’s, where he spent nearly 10 years serving in various development and operational roles in the UK, Hong Kong, and Singapore, including country manager for Hong Kong SAR and delegated authorities regional manager for Asia-Pacific. He most recently served as regional development manager for Asia-Pacific and the Middle East and Africa.

“I am really excited to be joining GC&C Asia and I look forward to working with the team to grow our market presence and support our clients and business partners in the region,” Lynch said.
