Gallagher Re has announced the addition of Linda Purnama as the leader of its reinsurance operations in Indonesia.
Purnama brings with her a wealth of experience, spanning over two decades, in leading and advancing reinsurance ventures in the Asia Pacific. According to LinkedIn, she previously served as the managing director at Guy Carpenter, overseeing Vietnam and the Philippines from Singapore. Prior to that role, Linda held the position of senior client manager at Munich Re, where she bolstered their portfolio in Indonesia and the Philippines.
In this role, Purnama will report to Mark O’Brien, regional director and head of Southeast Asia, Korea and Taiwan.
“We are thrilled to welcome Linda to Gallagher Re. Indonesia continues to be a strong focus for us as we look to draw on Linda’s knowledge of developing reinsurance business to continue building a strong portfolio in the region,” O’Brien said.
Gallagher Re managing director and head of Asia Pacific Mark Morley also commented on Purnama’s appointment, saying that elevating her to head its Indonesian arm underscores the company’s commitment in enhancing client relationships in the country.
“With 25 years’ experience in reinsurance across the Asia Pacific region, Linda will be an invaluable addition to the team and will contribute significantly to Gallagher Re’s growth plans in APAC,” Morley said.
Earlier this year, Gallagher Re also announced two appointments for its China branch, with Jia Lou taking on the role of CEO for Mainland China and Hong Kong and Alex Xia as head of the broker in Beijing.
