Following FWD’s recent acquisition of SCB Life Assurance in Thailand, the two insurers are integrating their agency forces.
At the ‘One Agency’ event held on November 15, the two companies marked the coming together of their agencies, The Bangkok Post reported. It was attended by numerous executives and agents from both companies, including Binayak Dutta, managing director for emerging markets and group chief distribution officer, FWD Group, Khun Poramasiri Manolamai, CEO of FWD Thailand, and David Korunic, CEO of SCB Life Thailand.
Alongside the agencies’ integration, Sahapol Polpathapee was appointed as chief agency officer of FWD Thailand. He reports directly to Manolamai.
In his new role, Polpathapee will oversee all of the company’s agents, including the ‘One Agency’ project. This encompasses restructuring the operational processes of both companies, as well as developing their agent’s key potentials, the report said.
Polpathapee has over 23 years’ experience in the insurance industry and holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of San Francisco. Prior to joining FWD, he was chief agency officer of SCB Life and, before that, held the same position in AIG Thailand. He was also head of customer marketing at AIA Thailand.
