FWD Insurance has announced several initiatives to help customers and the wider Hong Kong community amid the massive fifth wave of COVID-19 infections in the city.
These initiatives include extending extra coverage for eligible customers and providing exclusive discounts on partners' healthcare services. FWD and its parent firm Pacific Century Group have also donated 10,000 rapid antigen test kits to long-term community partner Hong Chi Association.
FWD’s free benefit against COVID-19 vaccination complications has been extended until June 30. Customers of individual insurance plans can receive a benefit of up to HK$265,300 (SG$46,251) for covered adverse reactions to government-approved COVID-19 vaccines, with no registration required.
The insurer is offering a discount of up to 71% on potential chronic diseases health check-up plans and has expanded its panel doctor list to online consultations via the DrGo platform. FWD MAX members can purchase much-needed items such as oximeters, alcohol, tissue paper, and rapid antigen test kits at discounted prices or by redeeming MAX points.
“The fifth wave of COVID-19 is hitting Hong Kong hard, creating tremendous challenges to both the health and financial livelihoods of Hong Kong people,” said Ken Lau, FWD's managing director of Greater China and Hong Kong CEO. “We're launching these initiatives to help people focus on their and their families’ health and safety at this critical time. We'll continue to monitor the situation and strive to stay apprised of our community's needs to offer the best-suited health and financial protection in a flexible and timely manner.”
