FWD Philippines has made two new appointments to its board of directors. Antonio Manuel “Jumbing” De Rosas joins the board as independent director, while Ken Lau has been named non-executive director.
De Rosas has over 35 years of experience in insurance, banking, and public accounting. He is a certified information systems auditor and is the first in the country to receive a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation. As independent director, he will provide mentorship to FWD Philippines’ leadership, helping advance corporate credibility and raise governance standards.
Lau has 30 years of industry experience. He first joined FWD in 2018 as managing director for Greater China and CEO for Hong Kong and Macau. He is also a fellow for the Society of Actuaries.
“We’re excited to have Jumbing and Ken on the board of directors. Their expertise in distribution expansion and digital transformation will help address the protection need in the Philippines. Having progressive leaders who understand Asian culture and sensibilities is part of our commitment as an innovative, relevant and caring insurer throughout the region,” said Binayak Dutta, FWD Group’s managing director for emerging markets and group chief distribution officer.
“I welcome our new directors at a time when the Philippines is poised for growth. We aim to lead and transform how insurance serves Filipinos, supporting FWD’s vision of changing the way people feel about insurance,” said Ambassador Jose Cuisia, Jr., chairman of FWD Philippines’ board of directors.
